MUTATEC is a pioneer in the production of insects for animal feed in Europe. Based in Cavaillon, its project is to build and operate industrial insect breeding farms. In a logic of circular economy, these farms make it possible to valorize biomass (unsold fruits and vegetables, agricultural co-products) to produce insect proteins, oils and ingredients for animal feed, especially aquaculture. MUTATEC's innovative solution is supported by a dynamic, committed and multicultural team of about ten people. Backed by a major industrial player in the ecological transition, MUTATEC begins the operation of a first industrial farm in Cavaillon.
We plan to roll out this model next, with the construction of one to two farms per year in the next 10 years, in France and abroad.
Reporting to the Head of "Reproduction" breeding activities, in connection with the Operations Director and all teams, he/she assumes the following responsibilities on the industrial farm newly in service:
• Implement instructions and good husbandry practices
• Manipulation of living organisms (harvesting eggs, seeding larvae...)
• Evaluation and control of certain elementary parameters (counting...)
• Capture of traceability and production data
• Collection of "cull" insects
• Cleaning of breeding facilities (aviaries, bins, etc.), management of sanitary breaks
• Driving the self-propelled electric trolley and cleaning devices
Training in agricultural fields. First experience appreciated but not essential
• Sense of organization, rigor, autonomy
• Volunteer, worker, wishing to discover a new activity
• Taste for work in livestock buildings (specific temperature and hygrometry conditions)
• Strong attraction for animal production professions and sensitivity to the challenges of sustainable development
• Dynamism, good team spirit
